Curriculum
At Paralowie R – 12 School, we believe public education plays a vital role in shaping individuals and strengthening society by providing accessible, equitable and high-quality learning opportunities for every child. Guided by this purpose, we are committed to ensuring all students are supported to achieve success, thrive in their learning, and develop the skills and dispositions needed for life beyond school.

High Expectations and a Commitment to Excellence
Our vision is to empower students to be resilient, lifelong learners through a culture of high expectations and a commitment to excellence.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Australian Curriculum, the South Australian Curriculum, and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). It is designed to ensure students build strong foundations of knowledge, skills and capabilities across all learning areas through a coherent, sequenced and explicitly taught approach. Learning is most effective when it is clear, purposeful and carefully scaffolded over time.
Self-Regulated Learning (SRL)
At Paralowie, this is strengthened through our focus on self-regulated learning (SRL). From Reception to Year 12, students are explicitly taught strategies to plan, monitor and evaluate their learning, fostering independence, confidence and agency in their educational journey.
Our teachers employ evidence-informed and responsive teaching practices to meet the diverse needs of all learners. This ensures students are both supported and challenged, with equitable access to high-quality learning experiences.
Through this approach, we are proud to offer a curriculum that not only delivers strong academic outcomes, but also develops the Resilience, Responsibility and Respect that underpin success at school, in further education and in life.
